Springer Open Publishing Program 2026
The Springer Open Access Publishing Program is available under a national license coordinated by ICM UW. The program is intended for corresponding authors affiliated with Nicolaus Copernicus University.
The program will be resumed in 2026 after the Ministry of Science and Higher Education awards ICM UW its 2026 funding. ICM UW, the coordinator of the national license, anticipates that the resumption will occur no later than April 2026.
The publisher does not provide for the possibility of retroactivating articles; only articles accepted for publication after the launch of the program will be covered by the program.
The program allows UMK employees and authors affiliated with UMK to publish free of charge in the OA mode. The publisher does not provide for the possibility of retroactive articles, the program can only cover articles accepted for publication after the program has been launched. Using OA publishing requires completing the final settlement form sent by the editorial office after the positive conclusion of the review stage. The costs of publishing articles under the program are covered by the Springer national license fee from funds from the Ministry of Education and Science.
The program allows for the publication of open articles under the CC-BY license (or possibly CC-BY-NC at the special request of the author) in Springer hybrid journals.
The program does not include BioMed Central and SpringerOpen journals. The program includes OriginalPaper, ReviewPaper, BriefCommunication and ContinuingEducation articles. The program does not include EditorialNotes, News, Letters.
