IOP Open Publishing Program 2026

The IOP open access publishing program will resume in 2026. ICM UW, the consortium coordinator, is in the process of negotiating with the publisher the rules for publishing in 2026 before and after the new agreement is signed. Once the program launches, articles published in 2026 under the subscription model will be able to be converted to open access.

The program is intended for corresponding authors affiliated with institutions participating in the IOP consortium.

In 2025, the program covered all hybrid and fully open IOP journals and all types of publications. The program allowed an unlimited number of articles accepted for publication in the current year to be published under the CC-BY license free of charge.
