9th Toruń Regional Book Fair

The University Library in Toruń cordially invites you to the Toruń Regional Book Fair - a cyclical event in the form of a publishing fair combined with presentations, meetings, workshops and other events devoted to the areas of northern Poland. Since 2011, eight editions of the Fair have been held. Their organization is the result of cooperation between the University Library in Toruń and the Toruń Branch of the Kashubian-Pomeranian Association and - from 2022 - the Copernican Library in Toruń.

On October 17-18, 2023, the 9th Toruń Regional Book Fair "Kujawy and Pomerania" will be held in Toruń. This time, the Book Fair and the 2nd Congress of Regionalists will be organized as part of it. We especially invite you to the Book Fair, which, together with the accompanying events, will be held again in the University Library building on October 17, 2023! Several dozen exhibitors will present publications regarding the areas of Eastern and Western Pomerania, Powiśle, Warmia, Masuria and the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship.

The events accompanying the Fair also promise to be very interesting. "The writer towards the heritage of places" is the topic of the meeting with prof. Stefan Chwin - novelist, essayist, literary historian and graphic designer, led by prof. Maciej Wróblewski from the Faculty of Humanities of the Nicolaus Copernicus University. The author Natalia Zacharek and the book illustrator, painter and creator of artbooks Yulya Tabenska will discuss demons, ghosts and apparitions of the Chełmno land. "Children of the Jeromins" by Ernst Wiechert will be the topic of a conversation between editor Waldemar Mierzwa from Retman Publishing House in Dąbrówno and prof. Włodzimierz Zientara from the Faculty of Humanities of the Nicolaus Copernicus University as part of the next installment of the "Masuria in Toruń" series. The Book Fair at the Main Library of the Nicolaus Copernicus University will end with a meeting with the authors of the book "History of Kashubia for One Evening" and a screening of the film "It's going to rain tomorrow", combined with a discussion with the participation of its creators from the "Aby Głoso Się Chcieć" Foundation.

We invite you to the Book Fair on October 17 from 10.00 to the main hall of the Nicolaus Copernicus University Library at Gagarina 13 Str., and for accompanying events to room no. 8 (ground floor).
