Everyday life of the towns of the Teutonic Order in Prussia - meeting with prof. Kazimierz Grążawski

The University Library in Toruń invites you to a meeting with prof. Kazimierz Grążawski and the promotion of his book entitled "Everyday life of the towns of the Teutonic Order in Prussia". The meeting with the Author will take place on June 19 at 12.00 in the Library lecture hall, and will be led by prof. Andrzej Radzimiński – head of the Department of History of Scandinavia and Central and Eastern Europe of the Nicolaus Copernicus University.
The book describes many aspects of everyday life in the cities of the Teutonic state in Prussia, starting from their genesis, through the issues of the legal and social system, construction, the development of crafts and trade, and defense issues. The publication also presents culture and art, spirituality, entertainment, as well as healing and the issue of wealth and poverty.
prof. Kazimierz Grążawski is a graduate of archeology at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, habilitated doctor of humanities at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, retired lecturer at the UWM, researcher of the history of medieval Poland. He was an employee of the Museum in Brodnica, and in the years 2012-2016 the director of the Interactive Museum of the Teutonic State in Działdowo. In 2017, he stayed at the University of Würzburg as a scholarship holder of the Polish Historical Mission. He is a member of the Scientific Society in Toruń and the Pruthenia Scientific Society in Olsztyn.
